Once upon a time, these boys were little bored and decided to play with the ground and build themselves a hill they could climb. They were putting the ground up and up and didn't notice that it was getting dark. When they finished, it was very late so they decided to climb the hill even though it wasn't perfectly dry and smooth. When they tried, they kept slipping down and left behind traces, just like the one in the picture. During the night, animals passed over the hill and left their own traces there also. The mountain of Uluru is therefore not perfectly smooth and has a whole series of strange caves and gullies.
The tourist information centre near the Uluru base is built as two interlocked snakes representing Kunyia (woman python or the "good" snake) and Liru (the poisonous snake). These snakes have lived at Uluru and governed the area since Tjukurpa.
