The Dog Fence

The Dog Fence is an unbroken barrier that stretches over 5 300km through South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. It is the only barrier that prevents dingoes from the north entering the sheep grazing country in the south (hence protects a multi-millon dollar business).

The Fence was raised (or better: existing smaller fences were integrated into one big one) in 1946. Dog Fence is the longest man-made structure in the world. Even longer that the Great Wall Of China.

The "cattle country" is on the left hand side and the "sheep country" is on the right hand side. They both look like a desert. I don't know about the sheep, but they say that in this area you need 2sqkm (0.75 sq mile) of land to feed one cow.
